Trust in God, He Trusts in You
In the opening passage of Mark 12, Jesus tells the parable of the tenant farmers. In this parable the owner of a vineyard prepares his land and then leaves in the care of other farmers while he moves away. The owner then sends servants to collect his share of the crop, but they are beaten and sent away empty handed. The owner then sends his only son to the vineyard but he is killed by the tenant farmers. Jesus told this parable to the men from the Sanhedrin and they knew that Jesus was calling them out like the tenant farmers. Jesus said that even though He will be rejected, God will build His church with Jesus as the cornerstone.
Pastor Geoff showed us that God gives us a each a vineyard to be responsible for and benefit from. God trusts enough to give us this vineyard, even though at times we are not trustworthy back to God. Pastor Geoff encouraged us to be trustworthy followers of Jesus and also trust in God as the foundation of our lives.
