In the opening of Mark 11, Jesus makes His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. It's an entry that those surrounding Jesus celebrate as they welcome Him in like a hero. The thing is, Jesus was a hero, not the type of hero the people were expecting. Jesus didn't come in to start a military revolution and save people by force like a super hero would. Jesus came to go through pain, mockery, and death to save people as a suffering hero. Pastor Geoff encouraged us to see Jesus as the suffering hero He truly is and not by the heroics we want from Him.
