Today we opened a new series on the life of Joseph called From Pit to Palace. Joseph might be most well known for the fancy coat that his father gave to him. That coat however, enhanced the jealousy and anger that Joseph's brothers had towards him. In the passage we covered today we heard about Joseph receiving that coat but also about the first two dreams that God gave him. Dreams will become a big piece of Joseph's life. In these first two dreams the message was that in some way Joseph's family would all come under his authority. These dreams were the way in which God spoke to Joseph.

Pastor Geoff talked to us about how God speaks to all of us in a variety of ways. We need to take time to hear from God, discern what God wants us to do, but also understand that God speaks to, not only us, but all those around us. God's voice is always important and God doesn't speak to just be heard, but for us to hear Him.
