In the opening of Mark 10, Jesus is once again tested by the Pharisees. This time they test him about when it is permissible for a man to divorce his wife. Jesus explains that Moses only granted certificates of divorce as a concession to the people because their hearts had become hardened. While Jesus spoke about marriage, Pastor Geoff shared that this passage had an even deeper meaning. He showed us that Jesus was really cautioning everyone about allowing their hearts to become hardened towards Him and His teaching. When our hearts are hardened it is really hard to be a true disciple and follower of Jesus. Pastor Geoff encouraged all of us to work on softening our hearts to Jesus which allows us to be firmly rooted in Him and His Word.
