In today's world there are multiple ways we can consume scripture. We can read from physical bibles, read from websites, read from apps, or listen from apps or podcasts. All of those options are great, we just need to prioritize getting into scripture. Scripture was the focus of what we learned about in Nehemiah 8. The people of Jerusalem all gathered together to hear Ezra read from scripture. They prioritized hearing the scripture but they also let it work in them. Pastor Geoff encouraged us to hear scripture, understand scripture, be influenced by scripture, and celebrate what scripture says. But most of all, Pastor Geoff pushed us to get into scripture so scripture gets into us.
