On Easter Sunday we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus from the grave. The story of the women coming to the tomb, finding an angel sitting on the stone, and Jesus' body gone is an amazing account of what happened. However, we shouldn't see the resurrection as just a history lesson or historical event. The resurrection holds power for us today. Since Jesus was raised from the dead we are raised to new life and new heights in Him. Pastor Geoff said that the first part of being raised in Christ, is to kneel down before Him in worship. Worshiping God and seeing Him with awe and wonder sets our hearts and minds on Him in a way that leads us to live for Him. Then as we are raised to new life in Christ we are filled and satisfied by Jesus, and we are given new eyes to see Jesus as He is, and see others as Jesus sees them. Finally, Pastor Geoff shared that Jesus takes us to new heights with Him. It doesn't matter our background or stage of life, God can and will, take us to new heights in Him. Jesus was raised so we can be raised in Him!
