Today we heard a story about Jesus wanting to go away and rest. However, He didn't actually get to rest. A woman, who a daughter that was possessed by an impure spirit, approached Jesus and begged Him to heal her daughter. This is where it gets interesting though, because Jesus tells the woman a mini parable that could have easily been taken as insulting. However, the woman understood that was not Jesus' intent at all, because Jesus was challenging her. The woman perceived what Jesus was doing and responded in faith and was then rewarded for her faith when Jesus healed her daughter. Pastor Geoff asked us to take a cue from this woman and perceive who Jesus truly is. To do that, Pastor Geoff encouraged us to get close to Jesus, to come to Jesus in humility, and to have strong faith.
