Jesus needed to teach His disciples a lesson about humility. They had been arguing with each other about who the greatest among them was. Jesus taught that if they wanted to be great they needed to be a servant of all. That meant putting others above themselves and welcoming those that the rest of society doesn't want to welcome. Pastor Geoff encouraged us to find our own greatness in the eyes of God and not in the eyes of anyone else or even ourselves. We can do that by serving others and graciously welcoming others in. Jesus calls us to show humbleness, not awesomeness.
