Faith in the Midst of Conflict
As we continued hearing about the life of Abraham we came across the story of how he, and his nephew Lot, separated. The two men owned large flocks and herds and it became difficult for the herders to keep all the animals fed and watered. This led to conflict between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot. Abram stepped in, approached Lot, and told him to choose which land he would like to go to, and Abram would then go a different direction. This conflict could have caused larger issues, but because of how Abram handled it, that didn't happen.
Pastor Geoff encouraged us to look at the example of Abram when we are faced with conflict. Abram chose action over avoidance, peace over principle, confidence over control, and relationship over reward. These are valuable lessons for us to take to heart as we face conflicts while walking out our faith.
