Today we kicked off a new series on the life of David. Pastor Geoff opened the series in 1 Samuel 16 when David was chosen, by God, to be the new King. David may not have been the first choice of the people, he may have even seemed an unlikely choice by the people, but God saw his heart and chose him. God also chooses us no matter how unlikely we may seem. When God chooses He looks at our hearts, and then also gives us His spirit to carry with us as we live for Him. That spirit of God gives us power, love, and self discipline. Remember, that even though we may not be everyone's choice, we are God's choice.
