We continued in our series on Joseph and heard about the anger and jealousy of his brothers escalate to the point that they threw Joseph into a pit and eventually sold him like a slave. Joseph didn't do anything wrong, but ended up in a scary, unknown, painful situation in the pit. Sometimes life will throw us into a pit of our own. God didn't cause it to happen, and we didn't cause it to happen, but the pit is where we ended up. The thing to remember is that even though God didn't cause the pit, He's in the pit with us. Pastor Geoff encouraged us to be constantly drawing near to God on a daily basis so that we look to Him when we're thrown into the pit.
